Supporting the island

At Sanzala Travels, we believe travel should leave a positive impact.
That’s why travellers rates in Príncipe include a Nature & Community Fund (NCF) ranging from €10 to €25 per person, per night (ages 13+). 100% of this contribution funds local projects, supporting initiatives that preserve the environment, promote education, and improve community well-being.

Funds are distributed as following:

• Sanzala Revitalization (80%)
  Support for the Sanzala Foundation, which works to improve housing, sustainability, and environmental conservation in local communities.

• Education & Training (10%)
  Support for schools, organizations, and students in Príncipe, creating educational opportunities.

• Environmental & Social Projects (10%)
  Funding for conservation and social development initiatives benefiting individuals and communities.

Transparency is key.

All support requests are evaluated against objective criteria. Sanzala Travels may either fund these initiatives directly or channel contributions through the Sanzala Foundation, ensuring a tangible and sustainable impact.

By January 1st each year, we publish a detailed report on how the Conservation & Communities Contribution was utilized.
